Reflection on Digital Storys

I can't imagine having the ability to allow students to create digital stories. That kind of technology is amazing, fun and the students will love it! I, myself, think these things! However, I do see some downfalls of using this type of technology concerning education. What computers can we use? Iwould have to not only assign this assignment and allow them time to work on them, but I would also have to teach "moviemaker" to them, as well as work around flitters and innappropriate material. I have to admit moviemake is great but these obstacles seem too daunting. I feel like this material is too good not to use, yet almost impossible to have students do themselves.

Maybe each student doesn't need to make a movie, but small groups could make movies. I like to think that if we learned how to use Movie Maker this fast, students who are tech-savvy would learn even faster and help their peers.

Your post is right on. If you find answers, please let me know! Seriously, we can't possibly have enough time in our day, our year, to do it all, not to mention the access to technology.
However, that is our responsibility to find a way to pull it off the best we can. My advice is to prioritize the best you can...and maybe digital storytelling isn't a priority right now. But you know how to use the tool and at the right time, you'll have it to use with the right kids and the right content!
