Richardson reading chapters 1-2 reflection

1) The words, "Digital Natives" and "Digital Immigrants," although possibly true by definition in some cases, is it really true that most teachers are digital immigrants and not more, "Destitute Digital Natives?" Teachers may know all types of technology that would be great to implement in a classroom filled with "Digital Natives," but CAN'T because of the lack of resources provided by the school and/or the students; without computers, a blog is just a concept.
2) "The savvy technologist" has created a way to rid himself of the favored, "did we do anything yesterday, I wasn't here," question.
3) Blogs are excellent ways to share information to students, club members, school departments, but what is the difference between emails and blogs, besides the "savviness," which by definition would include emails?

I never thought about how a blog can end the 'what did we do yesterday; I wasn't here' routine. Blogging IS going to be a very useful tool.

A blog would also be a useful place to post links to further information about what is studied in class. This way students can see what they are studying has greater implications than just what is going to be covered on the test.
